1-25-10 - Update - Carrington
Update: Carrington was pulled from the shelter just in time by the wonderful folks at Westside German Shepherd Rescue. He is still looking for his forever home. Please have a look at his link on their website. http://www.sheprescue.org
Some might say I'm petite...but don't good things come in small packages?
Some may say I look older than 2 years...but check my teeth out- they're shiny and white. It's just that this is what you look like when you've had it rough.
Some could say I don't matter...but the nice volunteers and staff at South LA say I'm loving and kind, and worth saving.

Carrington, as I like to call him for his gentlemanly ways, came in to SLA as a stray on Jan 1st with a microchip. We contacted his owners- surely they could not fathom 2010 without him- but after the 10 day holding still no one came. Carrington is a sweet, tender guy. He is a handsome and small German Shepherd, weighing about 45-50 lbs. His eyes are soulful and deep and he is loyal and eager to please as only a Shepherd can. When we took him out, he showed absolutely no aggression towards other dogs in kennels, or even another dog outside on our walk. But he is being kept in the keep-alone section due to his upper respiratory cold...again, he has no behavioral marks and was not reactive at all towards other dogs.
Carrington is the kind of dog you would want to drink tea with, read poetry with, run away with (he seemed to like the Hawaiian skirt). I think he's as sophisticated as Oscar Wilde was, only he's a Shepherd. Carrington does not belong at South LA nor on the red list, and yet he finds himself in both.
PLEASE help me save this darling boy. As you can tell, I am quite fond of him. He only has a few days left and we're his only hope- his owners certainly never came. Carrington will be a dedicated and devoted friend- the best you can imagine. Help me network to save his life. And thank you.
